You Get a Medal!

I was talking to a friend today out on a ride.  Its when some of the best therapy happens...on a bike.  Or while I'm running.  Talking through life.  Through challenges of the day.  And I said twice, relating to two different thoughts/experiences/challenges,

"It's not that I want a medal or anything."

The second time I said it, I realized, maybe I do want a medal?  A medal for getting through a Monday.  A medal for completing a work day.  A medal for NOT saying something.  A medal for pausing and giving a hug.  A medal for prioritizing sunshine over cold.  A medal for eating a real lunch and not just snacking. A medal for closing the books.  A medal for saying my prayers first.  A medal for finally getting out of my workout clothes.  A medal for being.

And I thought you probably needed a medal too.  So consider yourself a medal winner for the day!

Today's SFB is that medal.  Yours.  Mine.  Ours.  We deserve one every day.  There are wins to count.  Do it.  Acknowledge it.  We need to tell ourselves what we did right each day....not beat ourselves up for what we did wrong.  We can learn from mistakes, the "wrongs."  But its so important to acknowledge the wins.  And tomorrow, try again.

Did Tom Brady get a medal or just a trophy?  I think I'd rather have a medal.

Tell me about what earned you the medal today!  Because I know you did...

Outfit of the Day: Pilcro camouflage corduroys, Loft utility blouse.  I'm making that "I'm getting a medal" face!!!

Congratulations!

Nanette
